Better than new!

I own the oilskin Pathfinder Jacket and the Kodak Hat. Have owned the hat since high school. Loved it so much, I purchased the jacket a few years afterwards. Never needed to re-apply the wax coating till recently.

When it was time, I knew I had to come here to pick up the dressing. I applied the dressing using an inside out worn out sock (your hand/fingers will get greasy), allowing the heat from my hands to melt the wax. As I completed a section, I would use my hair dryer (yes, my hair dryer. My wife hated that I use her hair dryer for projects.) to heat the wax further, and help it absorb into the cloth.

The finish result looks oily. But give it a few days in a warm place (hanging in a laundry room works great!) to finish absorbing the oils. And it will come out better than new!

Takes a little work. But if you put a little effort and take the time to take care of your oilskin products, then it will last you more than a lifetime.
